Objective:  To transform an abandoned retail space for a client of choice, Wheely's to encourage the renovation of a decaying district in Boston.
Introduction
Wheely's is a chain of organic cafés founded to enable people to start their own café business serving artisan coffee. Since launching in 2014, Wheely's has grown all over the world and currently operates cafés in more than 50 countries. Wheely's serves organic, vegan food from cafés that run on energy from your body and the sun. The company was started in 2014 in Sweden by a group of friends seeking to fight franchises like Starbucks, which are mainly unattainable for the average entrepreneur.
Inspired by the client's commitment to entrepreneurship, free trade coffee, and accessibility, I focused my design on creating an open space to accommodate the employees, potential franchisees, and visitors.

Design Concept

“Lagom” is the Swedish concept of “not too much, not too little.” It translates to “enough, sufficient, just right.” This concept focuses on leading a balanced life where you have just the right amount of what you need -- no more, no less. Similar to the Wheelys franchise model, this concept focuses on what is necessary to further build the brand, support the existing culture, and foster store and franchisee sales.
